Executive Director, Student Services

ABOUT NORTHERN LAKES COLLEGE

Northern Lakes College (NLC) has been providing post-secondary education to rural northern communities for over 45 years.  Living in the north means doing things differently and we have done just that.  By focusing on the needs of the community, NLC has offered relevant programming and made it accessible to residents in small communities.  Northern Lakes College works closely with community partners to determine what programs are relevant and needed.  By using distance delivery in a variety of formats, this has allowed residents to remain in their home communities and obtain the credentials needed to get good jobs.  Small class sizes, quality instruction and affordable tuition continue to be important ingredients in our success.

NLC is community based and serves over 50 communities including 15 First Nation and 4 Metis Settlements.  The service region expands over 164,000 square kilometers.  With 23 Campuses, 5 Community Access Points, and 2 Campus Alberta Sites (Grande Prairie and Lloydminster), NLC offers 31 various programs ranging from Academic Upgrading, Business & Administrative Studies, Health Careers, Human Service Careers, Trades & Technology, University Studies and Continuing Education.   NLC faculty are well educated and many bring real life experience to the classroom.

Mission

With respect for cultures and the needs of communities, Northern Lakes College provides quality educational programs and services which enable adults to continue their education, to improve their employment opportunities, and to enhance their quality of life.

Vision

Northern Lakes College will be recognized as a first-choice community college with the most accessible programs and services in Alberta.
