Dean of Teaching

Nipissing University invites applications for the new position of Dean of Teaching. As one of four Deans reporting to the Provost, Vice-President, Academic and Research, the Dean of Teaching will be a key member of the University’s senior management team and will provide academic and administrative leadership to the creation and fostering of overall excellence in teaching, and a commitment to student-centred education to enhance the learning environment and student learning experiences in order to contribute to recruitment and retention at Nipissing University.

The ideal candidate will hold a minimum of a doctoral degree in a relevant field along with at least five years of progressively responsible management experience in a university environment.  The ideal candidate will have an established record of excellence in the practice and scholarship of teaching, demonstrated accomplishments in a senior university administrative role, with superior analytical, organizational, managerial, and leadership skills, and the ability to see the bigger picture for the long-term benefit of the Faculty and the University.

Nipissing University is located in the City of North Bay, Ontario, a comfortable three-hour drive from Toronto and four hours from Ottawa. Nestled between the picturesque shores of Lake Nipissing and Trout Lake, North Bay offers waterfront vistas, a thriving downtown and arts community, and endless nature and outdoors opportunities.
