The college offers over 40 unique diploma and certificate programs across a variety of disciplines including culinary arts and hospitality, health and human services, trades and technology, business, and agriculture and environment. Assiniboine is seeking a new Academic Chair, Agriculture and Environment.

 

The Chair is a key leadership position within the School of Agriculture and Environment. The Chair provides overall direction and development for current and future Academic Programs in the School of Agriculture and Environment while providing leadership and support to all faculty and students. Reporting to the Dean, School of Agriculture and Environment the successful candidate will play a key role on the School’s management team. The Chair will collaborate with the Dean on general administrative processes including budget preparation and monitoring while also analyzing staffing needs. The Chair will assist the Dean with the execution of the School’s applied research strategy, cultivating industry and community partnerships in support of the strategy.

 

As the Chair, Agriculture and Environment, you will possess a relevant degree and must be registered or eligible for registration as a P. Ag in Manitoba. You have shown demonstrated excellence in leading a team in a comparable post-secondary environment or industry and also have practical and theoretical experience and competence in the discipline(s) that comprise the supervised programs in Agriculture and Environment. You will have a solid understanding of program and curriculum development, assessment and evaluation, student advising, and group facilitation. In addition, the Chair will provide leadership for distance education, continuing education, contract training, and International training opportunities at various locations throughout the province.  Experience preparing, monitoring, and managing budgets is also an asset. The salary range for this position will be $87,302 - $111,435 per annum.
