Associate Director, Internal Audit

This this exciting role, you will assist the Director in managing the overall quality of audit work and managing internal audit relationships with the governance and senior leadership teams of the University, Governmental agencies, and others. This work requires the strategic review of audit reports to ensure their appropriate positioning for maximum benefit to the University, the expediting of corrective actions related to audit findings and the critical assessment of risks, audit assumptions and audit results. Your work will also entail managing or conducting an advanced level of operational, financial, information systems, value for money, and compliance audits, as well as other related activities. You will evaluate the efficiency, effectiveness, and economy of operational, management and financial reporting systems and internal controls within the University with emphasis on supporting University management and the Board of Governors in the proper discharge of their duties. You will also provide major input to the development of the annual audit plan, and provides training, coaching and supervision to internal audit staff.

To be considered for this opportunity, you will bring an undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or a related field. Recognized CPA accounting designation (CA, CMA, CGA). Certified Internal Auditor (CIA). This is coupled with 8-10 years' audit and/or related experience, preferably in a university environment or a large highly computerized institution or commercial organization and 5 years supervisory or project management experience. Information systems audit experience preferred.
