The Ottawa-Carleton District School Board (‘OCDSB’) is the largest school board in Eastern Ontario and offers students and parents a world of choice for learning. Its 147 schools offer a wide range of programs to promote learning excellence and meet the individual needs of students, parents, and the community at large. OCDSB schools are teaching communities where principals, vice-principals, teachers, and support staff nurture student well-being and challenge students to achieve their best.

Under the general direction of the Director of Education, the Superintendent of Finance and Treasurer, is responsible for providing strategic, ethical and equitable leadership and direction to the financial services department. This includes financial planning and management, school finances and procurement. The Superintendent of Finance represents the Board to external partners and stakeholders, including the Ministry of Education, the Council of School Board Business Officials and others. The Superintendent will also lead the development and approval of the District’s $1 billion annual budget, in support of the District’s strategic plan and priorities.

As the ideal candidate, you are a respected and forward-thinking business leader with a proven track record of successfully providing strategic financial advice at the management level. You are described by your peers as an innovative and strategic thinker, an excellent communicator and relationship-builder with strong interpersonal skills and a proven commitment to working positively, collaboratively and respectfully with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.

You have a demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion and effective leadership to remove barriers, address anti-Indigenous and anti-Black racism, and are a champion of the advancement of human rights for students, staff and community.

Qualified applicants must hold an acceptable post-secondary degree, a CPA designation, or equivalent and possess (or be eligible and willing to obtain) Ontario Business Supervisory Officer Qualifications as determined by the Ministry of Education.
