Campus General Manager, Campus Saint-Jean

Campus Saint-Jean at the University of Alberta is a one-of-a-kind meeting place of academic, linguistic and cultural life. Campus Saint-Jean was founded in 1908 and affiliated with the University of Alberta in 1963. The land that it sits on in the Bonnie Doon area was acquired in the mid-1970s. A French-language teaching institution, Campus Saint-Jean has established itself as an indispensable research institution in the fields of science, arts, social sciences, education and language teaching. The campus, which has 40 researchers, is distinguished by its interdisciplinary research, promoting alliances and collaborations between disciplines. The campus is home to over 80 research projects in 14 areas of expertise.

Campus Saint-Jean at the University of Alberta is seeking an experienced administrative leader to become the next Campus General Manager. Collaborating with, and reporting to the Dean, the General Manager - Campus Saint-Jean oversees all Campus operations and administration functions as well as the Undergraduate student services of Campus Saint-Jean. The General Manager ensures that the Faculty’s operating policies and procedures support its mission for excellence in teaching, research and student services. As a key member of the Faculty’s senior management, the General Manager provides advice, analysis and recommended solutions, strategic expertise, and has specific accountabilities for the development of administrative policies, regulations, practices and protocols to ensure that effective administrative, operational and student services are provided to the Faculty, its Centres and Institutes, and its affiliated organizations.

 

An experienced leader able to thrive in a complex academic environment, the Campus General Manager will have the ability to work in a multi-campus setting where they are responsible for driving excellence on multiple projects simultaneously in relationship-driven environment. Substantive senior managerial and project management experience of 10+ years in a university, or post-secondary environment would be ideal but we would welcome a proven administrator from other sectors. Excellent oral and written skills in both French and English are required as well as an appreciation for Francophone culture. A proven commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion is a requirement, as is knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and employment standards.

Annual Salary Range : $83,138 to $138,562 CAD, Salary will be commensurate with experience
