Chief Financial Officer  

Mohawk is seeking a proven leader as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Reporting to the Vice-President, Corporate Services, the CFO will provide leadership, strategic planning and senior management direction on all aspects of finance within the College. The CFO is accountable for overseeing the development and monitoring of the College’s financial plans, financial operations, investments, development and monitoring of financial policies, procedures and internal controls, while ensuring compliance with legislation, government requirements and Canadian public sector accounting standards (including Ministry audits and statutory reporting). S/he will ultimately ensure the financial integrity, viability and sustainability of the College through strong fiscal leadership and stewardship. 

The successful candidate will possess a professional accounting designation (CPA) and relevant education (a Master’s degree would be considered an asset), along with a minimum of 10 years’ experience in a related position. Experience from within a complex, public sector environment would also be considered ideal (but not necessarily mandatory). S/he will have strong technical skills in the areas of financial analysis, financial reporting, asset\liability management and portfolio management. In addition, the candidate will possess strong people management skills with the ability to communicate effectively and ensure credibility with senior staff and the Board of Governors.
