We are currently recruiting for an Executive Director, Resources and Strategic Planning to work with Vice-Provost Students for this exciting opportunity.

In this role, you will be the chief administrator of the Division and will be responsible for managing the full scope of divisional planning and oversight of large complex business operations within the Division’s functional units. The Executive Director, Resources and Strategic Planning oversees and directs strategic management & planning, financial management, human resources management (including change management, benchmarking and professional development for staff), programmatic effectiveness, computing services, physical resources planning and management, and health & safety. The Executive Director serves on the Vice Provost Students’ senior advisory team. The Division of Students is comprised of 18 departments, clustered into 9 units with approximately 385 staff including managers and unionized staff. The Division provides comprehensive services to support student success and engagement. Functional units include: Office of the Registrar: Registration, Student Financial Services, Admissions, Recruitment; Student Counseling & Development and Accessibility Services; Student Success: Advising Services, Student Success Strategies, Career Centre, Aboriginal and Mature Student Services, Student Engagement and First Year Experience; Student Relations: Office of Student Community Relations, Sexual Violence Centre; Athletics & Recreation; Residence Life; York International; Human Resources and Financial Resources.

To be considered for this opportunity, you will possess:

A University degree is required, (MBA preferred) with specialization in Finance or Management; professional credentials (CGA, CA) would be an asset. In addition, the successful incumbent will possess a minimum of 7-10 years of senior managerial and project management experience in a post-secondary environment including substantial exposure to decision making processes; an extensive knowledge of the academic environment; an understanding and application of the strategic planning process; policy development, approval and implementation; and experience in managing financial, human, and physical resources, including analysis, modelling and reporting. Experience in ABB-like (activity-based budgeting) and shared-services models is essential. Experience leading a team in an environment of change and managing staff in a unionized environment is also required.
