Memorial University (MUN) invites applications for the position of Director, Centre for Institutional Analysis and Planning (CIAP).

The Centre for Institutional Analysis and Planning (CIAP) is responsible for the collection, analysis and dissemination of information in support of academic planning and the development of units reporting to the Provost and Vice-President (Academic), together with other administrative areas that may be assisted by its expertise. CIAP’s collection of information is governed by the need for meaningful quantitative measures of important features of the University’s environment and performance.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Reporting to the Provost and Vice-President (Academic), the Director, Centre for Institutional Analysis and Planning, is an expert in University data analytics. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the university community to perform senior-level research that will contribute to informed decision-making and participate in strategic data collection and reporting for a variety of purposes and audiences. This position is responsible to ensure that innovative information and reporting technologies are employed appropriately to enhance the quality of Memorial’s data analysis across all portfolios.  With a focus on data quality, collaboration and creating a culture of responsiveness, you will work with academic and administrative leaders and other key stakeholders to support Memorial’s three planning frameworks. You will provide leadership in the areas of oversight, quality assurance, and innovation relating to Memorial’s data analytics.  You will also play a key role in the development and execution of recommendations that will support improved efficiency and effectiveness at Memorial. 

THE CANDIDATE

You are an accomplished leader in higher education and possess a Master’s degree in a relevant field such as business, social science, applied statistics, computer science or a related discipline. You have proven experience in predictive analytics, key performance indicators and data analysis to support organizational decision making.  You have superior communication and interpersonal skills, and have a collaborative approach that will support institutional reporting to various stakeholders.  You are focused on realizing results and committed to innovation and continuous improvement, respectfully challenging others to think creatively.  You have experience in an environment of higher education and can interface with faculty, staff and administration to organize institutional planning and research support for institutional priorities such as student success, and operational effectiveness.
