Manager, Payroll, Budget & Analysis

Established in 1964, British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) is one of British Columbia's largest post-secondary institutions, providing its students with cutting edge education and practical credentials, broad and relevant skills. Each year, nearly 50,000 full and part-time students study with BCIT at one of its diverse campus locations: Burnaby Campus, Downtown Campus, Marine Campus, Aerospace Technology Campus, Annacis Island Campus and/or Satellite Locations. BCIT's international partnerships span training, education and research initiatives in South America, Central America, East Asia and Eastern Europe.

Reporting to the Assistant Director, Financial Services – Budgets and Payroll, the Manager, Payroll, Budget and Analysis is responsible for the development and review of all budgets, analyses and reports required by and/or in collaboration with the BCIT Leadership Team (BCLT), the Board of Governors (the Board) and government agencies.  The Manager is responsible for the oversight of the budgeting process, in alignment with the organization’s Annual Planning and Budget Process and directs and coordinates the preparation and execution of BCIT’s payroll and benefits.

The ideal candidate will have a professional accounting designation and five years of current and relevant experience, within a similar environment.  The role requires experience with all phases of the development and monitoring of organizational budgets in addition to the consistent and effective delivery of payroll and benefits. The successful candidate will be client-focused with advanced technical and problem-solving skills, experience operating in a complex union environment, working across diverse stakeholders. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
