Manager, Financial Operations

-Oversee the College's financial operations and related accounting and reporting functions. This includes:

  • Supervision and mentoring of all Financial Operations staff
  • Cash and investments
  • Revenue and Accounts Receivable
  • Accounts Payable and expense claims
  • Procurement
  • Contract administration
  • Capital assets/capital projects accounting
  • External financial reporting

-Work with staff and clients to facilitate resolution of accounting and transaction processing issues

-Ensure the integrity, accuracy and reliability of the College's financial system, and ensure the system remains current and that relevant enhancements are developed and implemented

-Enhance and/or develop an effective contract development and management process for the College

-Ensure internal financial controls are operating effectively

-Establish and maintain effective relationships with Alberta and Saskatchewan Government staff and counterparts at other post-secondary institutions

-Keep abreast of emerging issues and public sector accounting standards

-Oversee the management of the College's investment portfolios and prepare and execute a cash management plan that maximizes investment income

-Oversee the preparation of the College's primary financial reports including the annual financial statements, Advanced Education's Financial Information (FIRS) and DCARS Reports (Program Costing), Statistics Canada and the annual charity return

-Provide ad hoc reports to College senior leadership as needed

-Act on behalf of the Chief Financial Officer when required

Accounting Designation

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field

  • Five years' related experience

This is a Full-time Continuing Administration appointment at the Vermilion campus.
