The Faculty of Liberal Arts and Professional Studies (LA&PS) is the largest Faculty at York University with over 23,000 undergraduate and graduate students, and almost 100 programs delivered through 24 Departments, Schools and Colleges, plus the IBM Markham Learning Site. In this role you will work with the Associate Dean, Students and Associate Dean, Recruitment & Retention in the areas of support, services, procedures and systems for academic integrity, student relations and student awards. Working closely with the Associate Dean, Students, the Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing a strategy to enhance coordination and integration of activities to support student academic success focusing on non-advising, and will manage student-related activities, such as the academic integrity process. The Manager will also be responsible for the development and management of a robust administration program for all privately donated and Faculty funds for student scholarship, bursaries, awards, and prize programs. This will include ensuring alignment with the Faculty's strategic enrolment management strategies and priorities, and the development of policies and procedures to ensure that all students have awareness of and access to the funds available to assist them in completion of their university studies. The incumbent is responsible for managing the development and maintenance of award web application and database systems, and with the support of the Senior Director and Associate Dean, Recruitment & Retention, for implementing and maintaining best practices on student financial awards administration in Canada. This includes marketing and promotion of student awards and award winners, and coordination and execution of events to recognize student award recipients. In addition, the Manager supports the Associate Deans with student academic achievement recognition and retention related initiatives and programs, such as the Dean's Circle of Scholars. The Manager will support the vision, mission, values and strategic direction of the Faculty of Liberal Arts & Professional Studies and York University, and contribute to a positive, supportive, and student-focused team environment of high performance, respect, trust, collaboration, and continuous improvement, and embrace diversity and foster inclusion.

To be considered for this opportunity, you will bring the following:

A graduate degree in a relevant field preferably focused on public administration, management and/or policy, is required or an equivalent combination of directly relevant education and progressive professional work and leadership experience. Specialized training in adjudication, policy development, public administration, and student development theory, including training related to academic integrity, is required. Five (5) years of experience in a fast-paced post-secondary environment leading the coordination and provision of student services. Managerial or supervisory experience in unionized post-secondary environment is required. Proven financial management and budgeting skills are also required. Prior experience with student financial awards management, academic integrity procedures and supports, and/or supporting Faculty governance structures and University legislation and drafting original reports is strongly preferred. Previous exposure to, and understanding of, the complexities and diversities of a large University Faculty is also strongly preferred.
