Senior Director, Strategic Financial Planning & Business Intelligence

In this newly- created position, the Senior Director, Strategic Financial Planning & Business Intelligence (the Senior Director) will establish BCIT’s FP&A and BI function and will provide strategic leadership to the Institute’s financial planning processes in consultation with the Chief Financial Officer and Vice President, Corporate Services (the CFO). This includes budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and critical decision support for the Senior Team, Board, schools and departments, as well as overseeing the optimization of all financial systems. They provide strategic direction to the Institute’s business intelligence function, developing meaningful insights into business performance, opportunities, risks, impacts, and solutions. They act as a strategic advisor to the CFO and Senior Team on the Institute’s most critical financial matters, and collaborate with senior leaders, schools and departments to establish effective financial goals, revenue projections, and growth opportunities. Leading a team of exempt and unionized staff, the Senior Director ensures delivery of high quality, collaborative, client-focused service to internal and external partners.

As the ideal candidate, you are a proven business partner and trusted advisor, and bring progressive leadership experience in the area of financial planning and business intelligence in a complex environment that has multiple business lines and/or programs and services. Experience with reporting, forecasting, financial planning and analysis are key. Experience in a post-secondary environment is not a requirement but an asset, and an alignment with BCIT’s values is a must. In addition, you have outstanding team leadership, interpersonal and communication abilities, with a strong service ethos. Your career experience is augmented by a CPA designation and a degree in finance, commerce or similar.
