PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Institutional Analyst – Modeling will create and maintain models used in enrolment and tuition revenue projections and provide research, studies and analyses to support university policy, planning and decision making.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

The successful candidate will have:

  • Master’s degree in a quantitative or related field (such as Math and Stats, Economics) focused on data analysis
  • Five (5) years of professional experience working with databases and data structures across all data platforms (relational, dimensional, and NoSQL), data modeling, data analysis and data forecasting using enterprise tools such as Cognos BI, and expertise in the use of databases and applications to extract, transform and analyse data.
  • Proficiency in database query tools (SQL and PeopleSoft Query).
  • Excel proficiency including writing macros and custom VBA scripting Strong research and math skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem- solving skills, with a demonstrated attention to detail in order to achieve a high degree of accuracy.
  • Demonstrated ability to resolve issues using independent judgement and decision making.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with demonstrated expertise in the effective communication and visualization of data for a variety of audiences
  • High level of interpersonal skills
  • Strong work ethic and initiative
  • Ability to work independently and follow projects to completion
  • Ability to work in a team and to collaborate effectively
  • Ability to work under deadline pressure with competing priorities

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • In-depth understanding of the UWinsite Student Information System and familiarity with other university databases
