Housed within the Division of Equity, People and Culture, Faculty Affairs works to broaden and deepen York's intellectual communities, concentrating on bringing new ideas and people to York (i.e., faculty recruitment) and helping them to thrive once here (i.e., faculty retention and development).

 

Under the direction of the Associate Vice-President Faculty Affairs (AVPFA) and in conjunction with the Academic Resource Coordinator, the Faculty Affairs Coordinator is responsible for carrying out confidential, crucial and highly sensitive faculty-related functions and for assessing, designing and implementing process improvements in alignment with the unit's purpose and role in the York University community. The incumbent supports the vision, mission, values and strategic direction of the University, and due to the nature of the position, regularly has access to highly confidential staff and organizational information. Inherent in the role and all responsibilities is a commitment to advance sustainability, equity, diversity and inclusion at York.

 

To be considered for this opportunity, you will bring the following:

 

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance or human resources.

 

Experience:

  • Three (3) years relevant experience, including experience in developing and streamlining of Standard Operating Procedures, designing workflow systems and improving processes required.
  • Experience working with Human Resources, Labour Relations or in an academic environment with exposure to faculty-related policies and procedures preferred.
